Weekend Emergencies
When our office is closed, we can still help! Call our phone number and our answering machine will direct you to an on-call veterinarian. If a veterinarian is required to come into the clinic to assist your pet there will be an emergency fee charged.
What Are Veterinary Emergencies?
Here are some examples of emergencies that may require immediate veterinary care:
- Choking, difficulty breathing or continuous coughing/gagging
- Blood in urine, or bleeding from mouth, nose or rectum
- Fractured bones or severe lameness
- Injuries to the eye(s)
- Inability to urinate or pass feces, or pain associated with urinating or passing feces
- Heat stress or heatstroke Seizures and/or staggering
- Injuries to the eye(s)
- Your pet has ingested something poisonous (such as antifreeze, xylitol, chocolate, rodent poison, etc.)
- Severe bleeding or bleeding that won't stop
- Severe diarrhea or vomiting; 2+ episodes in 24-hours
- Obvious signs of pain or extreme anxiety
- Refusal to drink for 24 hours or more
- Unconsciousness
