What to Expect at Your Veterinary Appointment
Knowing what to expect at your first visit will help make the process smoother and more pleasant for both you and your pet.
STEP 1
Get Settled
Please come approximately 10 minutes early to complete our New Patient Form. If you'd like to save some time, the
New Patient Form can be completed online in advance.
STEP 2
Meet Your Veterinarian
A member of our team will review your pet's medical history and discuss their health issues. We will also dedicate time to answering any questions you may have.
STEP 3
Examination, Diagnosis & Treatment
Once your pet has been examined, we will provide you with a diagnosis and treatment options. You'll work with your veterinarian to determine a treatment plan that will work for you and your pet.

- What types of payment options are available?
Payment in full is expected at the time services are provided or on discharge of your pet. We accept payment via cash, Visa, and MasterCard.
- Are there payment plans available for my pet’s care?
We are proud to offer Petcard as a financing option. They offer an easy online application process.
- Will I be provided with an estimate of costs?
You will receive a good-faith estimate of the cost of our services before your pet is treated. However, we may not be able to predict certain circumstances that can impact your final bill.
We will always explain our written estimate to all clients before they leave our facility. Before any further treatment is provided, a deposit based on our estimate is required.
- Should I call ahead to book an appointment?
Yes. Please call ahead to schedule an appointment. This will ensure we have room in our schedule to see your pet.
If your pet requires emergency care during our regular business hours, please contact us immediately.
- What is your appointment cancellation policy?
Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, so that the space in our schedule can be offered to other clients.
- What types of animals do you treat?
We provide veterinary care for cats and dogs in Grande Prairie.
- Where can I purchase my pet's prescription and food?
All medications and specialty food your pet requires can be purchased at our in-house pharmacy. Prescriptions require 24-hour notice for refills.
If you require an immediate refill, there may be an additional fee applied.
- What are the fees associated with a specialty appointment?
You are financially responsible for the initial examination fee and any diagnostics or treatment that you consent to. This payment will be due at the time of service.
For further diagnostics, hospitalization or surgery, an upfront deposit is required, with payment due in full upon discharge of your pet.
- What are the fees associated with an emergency visit?
For all emergency examinations, a deposit payment is required. Once our team members and veterinarians have examined your pet, an estimate for treatment will be provided to you so a treatment plan can be set.
If further diagnostics, surgery or hospitalization are needed, a deposit is required upfront, with payment due in full on discharge of your pet.
- Can you help with my pet insurance?
We will happily help you complete pet insurance forms for your pet's visit.
